METRIC CONVERSION CHART

Converting inches to centimetres – when I first launched this website, I tried to give all the measurements for my quilts in both metric and imperial.  I was quickly informed that I was confusing everyone, so I began to use imperial measurements only.  I am aware that some of you would prefer metric, so here is a conversion chart.

Inches  Cm  Inches  Cm
1/8 0.3 3.0 7.5
1/4 0.6 3.1/2 8.7
3/8 0.9 4.0 10.0
1/2 1.2 4.1/2 11.2
5/8 1.5 5.0 12.5
3/4 1.8 5.1/2 13.7
7/8 2.1 6.0 15.0
1.0 2.5 6.1/2 16.2
1.1/8 2.8 7.0 17.5
1.1/4 3.1 7.1/2 18.7
1.3/8 3.4 8.0 20.0
1.1/2 3.8 8.1/2 21.2
1.5/8 4.1 9.0 22.5
1.3/4 4.4 9.1/2 23.7
1.7/8 4.7 10.0 25.0
2.0 5.0 11.0 27.5
2.1/4 5.6 12.0 30.0
2.1/2 6.2 13.0 42.5
2.3/4 6.8 14.0 44.0

It is not exact, because that would have meant going to two decimal places, but I hope it is sufficient for most quilters’ needs.
