  1. Hi Rose,
I noticed that you had surgery on your right hand. How ever did you manage to fend for yourself? I was happy that my niece drove me to the hospital and back to her house after everything was finished. The surgery was on my left hand and it was tough enough to get along even with my right hand. The kids had to tie my shoe laces and my niece had to help me get dressed. Well, I was glad that I was able to remove the gauze and unwrap the bandages (almost 4 yards) after 2 days. Hope you mend in no time. It’s tough when you have to do everything with your left hand.
Stay well and take care. I’ll be thinking of you.

    • Hi Claire. Thanks for your thoughts. I was taken to hospital and collected by a friend, but broadly I’m just doing everything left handed – being very clumsy about it! Like you, I had yards of bandage so that has cushioned the wound really well. The lump was between my thumb and first finger, so the rest of my hand isn’t tender. Nothing that a few days with a good book won’t cure. I have the dressing changed on Wednesday and I’ll probably have a lot less padding on the wound after that.
